Epigenetic Evolution in Cancer

Cancer cell epigenomes are constantly changing as cells proliferate, acquire new mutations, and experience different environmental stimuli. Some of these differences can be memorized long-term within specific cell clones, and affect the phenotype and plasticity of cancer cells in response to drug therapies or other modes of clinical intervention.  I study how this diversity arises, and the molecular mechanisms that allow cancer cells to become therapy resistant.
